Bulldogs Bouldin, Harris Garner NABC District 9 Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. ¨C Gonzaga University senior guard Matt Bouldin and freshman forward Elias Harris have been selected to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 9 first team.
Bouldin, a two-time All-District 9 first-team selection, was the West Coast Conference Player of the Year and a three-time All-WCC honoree. He is averaging a team-leading 15.8 ppg, 4.6 rpg and 4.1 assists as the Bulldogs head into the NCAA Tournament for a 12th straight year. The native of Highlands Ranch, Colo., has 1,658 career points to rank seventh on the all-time Bulldog scoring charts. He is 13 points shy of moving past Blake Stepp and into sixth.
Harris, the WCC Newcomer of the Year and a member of the WCC All-Freshman Team, averaged 14.7 ppg and a team-leading 7.2 rpg in helping the Bulldogs to a 26-6 overall record , a 12-2 WCC mark and a 10th straight WCC regular-season title. The native of Speyer, Germany, shot a team-leading 54.4 percent from the field, connecting on 167-of-307 shots. He also showed exceptional range, going 22-for-47 for 46.8 percent from beyond the arc.
Bouldin and Harris were joined on the District 9 first team by WCC foes Omar Samhan Saint Mary¡¯s College and Dior Lowhorn of the University of San Francisco. Orlando Johnson of UC Santa Barbara rounded out the first team.
The district teams were selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, these student©\athletes representing the finest basketball players across America. The 240 student©\athletes representing 24 districts are eligible for the State Farm Division I All©\America teams, to be announced April 3 during the NABC Convention and NCAA Final Four in Indianapolis.
Earlier this month Gonzaga head coach Mark Few was named the NABC District 9 Coach of the Year.
