Frahm Surgery Successful

SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University senior men's basketball guard Richie Frahm underwent successful surgery Thursday to repair the fifth metatarsal of his left foot.
Frahm fractured the foot last weekend after landing on another player's foot while participating in the Portsmouth Invitational in Virginia, a showcase event attended by several NBA scouts.
"Everything went well," Gonzaga head athletic trainer Steve Delong said of the surgery performed by Dr. Russell VanderWilde. "A screw was inserted to repair the fracture. It was a clean break which should make for an easier healing process. We're hopeful Richie will be able to begin playing basketball as early as Aug. 1."
Frahm was expected to be released from the hospital Friday.
