ORLANDO, Fla. - Former Gonzaga University guard Jeremy Pargo is playing in the Pro Summer League for the host Orlando Magic, while three other former Bulldogs will compete in the Las Vegas Summer League July 10-19.
Austin Daye, the 15th pick in the NBA Draft, will be with the Detroit Pistons; Josh Heytvelt will be with the Washington Wizards, and Micah Downs with the Phoenix Suns when action starts in Las Vegas.
Pargo, meanwhile, has had mixed success with the Magic. He played 11 minutes in the opener, an 88-77 loss to Oklahoma City. The native of Chicago went 1-for-2 from the field with an assist, a steal, 2 points and a pair of turnovers.
He did not play against Boston on Tuesday, then saw 25 minutes of action in Wednesday's 108-86 rout of the Nets/76'ers. He was 3-for-10 from the field, including 0-for-3 from 3-point range, and had two assists, two steals, 6 points and one turnover.
The Magic play the Utah Jazz Thursday and the Indiana Pacers Friday to wrap up the Pro Summer League.
The Las Vegas Summer League will feature 22 teams. Daye and the Pistons will be in action Friday against Sacramento, Downs and the Suns don't play until Monday when they face Dallas and Heytvelt and the Wizards won't see their first action until Tuesday against Cleveland.
Each team will play five games in Las Vegas.
