Turiaf, France Take Bronze Medal

VILNIUS, Lithuania - Gonzaga University sophomore Ronny Turiaf scored 15 points and grabbed 6 rebounds Sunday to help France defeat Russia 95-78 for the bronze medal in the European Championships U20.
Turiaf and France had been defeated by Greece 79-70 in Saturday's late semifinal, Turiaf scoring a tournament-low 4 points and grabbing 7 rebounds in the defeat.
Greece captured the gold medal with a 77-73 victory over Spain on Sunday.
Turiaf averaged 14.9 points to rank 11th and 9.8 rebounds for third in the championships.
