Bulldog Basketball Gets ESPN Appearances

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Gonzaga University's men's basketball team will make a minimum of 12 appearances on the ESPN family of stations during the 2007-08 season, and the Bulldog women will also make another appearance on ESPN this season.

The West Coast Conference ESPN package includes nine Gonzaga men's appearances and one women's game according to the television schedule announced by WCC Commissioner Michael Gilleran.

The Bulldog women will host Pepperdine University Jan. 10 at 8 p.m. on ESPNU, the third appearance the past two seasons for the Bulldog women on the ESPN family.

The Gonzaga men will have nine games tied into the WCC package, plus three other games during the course of the season. The WCC package has the Bulldogs playing non-conference games at home against Washington State University Dec. 5 at 8 p.m. on ESPNU, and meeting the University of Tennessee on Dec. 29 in The Battle in Seattle at KeyArena at 1 p.m. on ESPN2. The Bulldogs will be a part of the ESPN Big Monday schedule six times this season - Jan. 14 at Pepperdine University (9 p.m., ESPN), Jan. 21 when the University of San Francisco visits (9 p.m., ESPN), Feb. 4 at Saint Mary's College (8 p.m., ESPN2), Feb. 18 at the University of San Diego (8 p.m., ESPN2), Feb. 25 at the University of Portland (8 p.m., ESPN2) and March 3 when Santa Clara University visits (8:30 p.m., ESPN2). The Bulldogs will have one Saturday game on ESPNU when the Bulldogs visit USF Feb. 16 at 5 p.m.

Other Gonzaga games scheduled to be on the ESPN family are Nov. 22 at 8:30 p.m. Pacific time on ESPNU against Western Kentucky University in the Great Alaska Shootout first round, Dec. 1 at 12:30 p.m. Pacific time on ESPN against the University of Connecticut at the Basketball Hall of Fame Challenge in Boston, Mass. and Dec. 20 at 6 p.m. Pacific time on ESPN2 against the University of Oklahoma at the All-College Challenge in Oklahoma City, Okla..

The Bulldogs could also be on an ESPN station in the semifinals, finals and/or consolation championship game of the Great Alaska Shootout and in the WCC Tournament semifinals and/or finals.
