'Krazy In The Kennel' Set For Oct. 26
Oct. 18, 2002
SPOKANE, Wash. - It's time to get "Krazy in the Kennel."
Gonzaga University's men's basketball team will showcase the 2002-03 version of the Bulldogs on Saturday, Oct. 26, with "Krazy in the Kennel."
The event is free and open to the public. The doors to The Kennel will open at 1 p.m., with the festivities beginning at 1:30 p.m. Among the activities will be a special taped message from Dan Dickau, last year's Bulldog All-American and current rookie with the NBA's Atlanta Hawks. Last year's highlight video will be shown on The Kennel video wall. Members of this year's Bulldogs will be introduced and the players will showcase their talents in a scrimmage beginning at 2 p.m.
One Gonzaga University student will also be selected in a random drawing for a chance to win $25,000 in tuition money at halftime of the scrimmage. The selected contestant will have to make a layin, free throw, 3-point shot and half-court shot in 25 seconds. Players will also be available for photographs and autographs following the scrimmage.
Season ticket holders may pick up their tickets for the upcoming season beginning at 12:30 p.m. in the first-floor atrium of the Martin Centre.
"We hope everyone will come out for a fun afternoon of basketball," said head coach Mark Few. "Fans will get a good look at this team in the scrimmage. We're looking forward to working hard, but at the same time having some fun and interacting with the fans."
