Bulldogs 22nd in USA Today/ESPN Top 25 Poll

ARLINGTON, Va. - Gonzaga University's men's basketball team is again on the national radar, the Bulldogs ranked 22nd in the USA Today-ESPN Top 25 preseason poll released Thursday.
The Bulldogs, 29-4 a year ago and a participant in its fourth straight NCAA Tournament, finished last season ranked 16th in the poll conducted by a voting panel of coaches.
The University of Arizona holds the preseason top spot. Another set of Bulldogs, the University of Georgia, are ranked 16th, with Gonzaga and Georgia set to meet Dec. 15 in the Peach Bowl Classic in Atlanta. The University of Indiana, in the same bracket as Gonzaga in the Maui Invitational, is ranked 21st. The Bulldogs and Hoosiers could meet in the second round in Maui.
North Carolina State Univrsity, the Bulldogs' opponent in the Jimmy V Classic on Dec. 17, was the first team listed among those also receiving votes. Other schools on Gonzaga's schedule receiving votes were the University of Tulsa who comes to The Kennel Feb. 22; Stanford University, Gonzaga's foe in the Pete Newell Challenge Dec. 28, and West Coast Conference rival Pepperdine University. Gonzaga and Pepperdine tied for the WCC title last season with 13-1 records.
The Associated Press Top 25 preseason poll will be released Nov. 11.
