Nov. 10, 2005

SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University head coach Mark Few inked his third and final recruit during the early letter-of-intent period Thursday with the signing of 6-9, 220-pound forward Abdullahi (ob-duh-lie) Kuso out of Tallahassee, Fla., Community College.

He played 15 games and averaged 11.6 ppg, 8.8 rpg and 1.5 blocks/game last season for coach Eddie Barnes. He was named to the Panhandle Conference All-Academic team.

His best game came against Chattahoochee Valley when he scored 23 points and grabbed 16 rebounds, one of two 23-point nights for the season, the other against Florida Community College-Jacksonville. He also had 18 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks against Daytona Beach. He had five double-doubles for the season.

He had originally signed a letter-of-intent to attend Rutgers University, but never played for the Scarlet Knights. He attended Rimi College in his native Kaduna, Nigeria.

He has also trained with the Nigerian National Team and played for the Dodan Warriors Club team in Lagos, Nigeria. He averaged 15.0 ppg, 9.0 rpg and 3.0 blocks/game for the Warriors.

"Kuso will be a solid addition to our program. He will continue our recent tradition of big men in the program," Few said.

On Wednesday the Bulldogs signed 6-9 forward Matt Bouldin of ThunderRidge High in Highlands Ranch, Colo., and 7-3 center Will Foster from White River High in Buckley, Wash.
