Bulldogs, Rams In ESPN College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon
SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga University will host Colorado State University Monday at 6 p.m. in a game to be televised live nationally on ESPNU as part of the ESPN College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon, the third straight season the Bulldogs have hosted the opening game of the ESPN extravaganza.
Gonzaga head coach Mark Few has never coached against Colorado State, but CSU head coach Larry Eustachy has a 2-1 record against the Bulldogs. Few was an assistant when Eustachy and Idaho defeated the Bulldogs 70-66 in Moscow Dec. 4, 1990, and 82-64 Dec. 21, 1992. Those two games were sandwiched around an 80-62 Gonzaga victory Dec. 22, 1991, in the Martin Centre.
Current Colorado State associate head coach Leonard Perry was winless in three meetings with Gonzaga during his tenure as head coach at the University of Idaho from 2002-06.
The game is the second of four straight home games to open the season for the Bulldogs, who will entertain Oakland University next Sunday.
