MBB's Josh Perkins Out Indefinitely
NEW YORK CITY – Freshman guard Josh Perkins suffered a broken jaw on Wednesday night after taking a blow to the face during the second half of Gonzaga’s 88-76 win over Georgia.
Perkins is showing no signs of a concussion, but will have his jaw wired shut due to the fracture and is ruled out indefinitely. There is no timetable for his return.
“We are praying for a speedy recovery for Josh,” head coach Mark Few said. “He’s a tough kid, and in good spirits today. We know he’ll be eager to get back on the court as soon as he can be.”
Through five games, Perkins averaged 5.0 points and 3.4 assists in 20.2 minutes per game as the backup point guard.
