Pangos Named West Coast Conference Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – For the sixth time in his career at Gonzaga University, Kevin Pangos was selected as the West Coast Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday.
Pangos received the weekly honor after being named the Most Outstanding Player of the NIT Season Tip Off. He led the Zags to the tournament title, averaging 16.5 points, dishing out 15 assists, and making three steals in the pair of games inside the Madison Square Garden in New York City.
In the semifinals against Georgia, Pangos scored a season-high 22 points, making five of his seven attempts from the field. Two nights later in the championship game versus St. John’s, the senior had a season-high nine assists. He played in all 40 minutes of the championship game and scored 11 points.
Pangos was last selected the West Coast Conference Player of the Week on Dec. 2, 2013, after he was named to the All-Tournament team at the Maui Invitational.
The No. 9/8 Bulldogs (6-0) welcome Southeastern Louisiana (2-5) Tuesday at 6 p.m. The game will be televised on KHQ and ROOT Sports.
