Bulldogs Put Perfect Mark On Line Wednesday At WSU

SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University heads to Pullman Wednesday to face Washington State University, and the Bulldogs are looking to avenge their last trip to WSU.

The Zags fell behind 25-6 with 7:19 to go in the first half, and still trailed 30-13 just 5:30 from halftime. But Gonzaga went on an 11-0 run to end the half to make it a respectable 30-26 and it seemed as though the second half would be a close-fought battle. But WSU opened the second half with a 12-4 run to go up by 16 with 15:29 remaining and the Bulldogs didn't have many answers the rest of the night as the Cougars won 81-59. The Bulldogs got a little revenge last season with an 89-81 victory in the friendly confines of the McCarthey Athletic Center.

Gonzaga guard Kevin Pangos made his first collegiate start and his second collegiate game a memorable one last season against Washington State University in the McCarthey Athletic Center. The then-freshman from New Market, Ontario, tied the school record with nine treys on his way to 33 points in front of a national ESPN audience as the tip-off for the network's 24-hour College Hoops Tip-off Marathon. He went 9-of-13 from long range to tie Dan Dickau's single-game 3-point record.
