Gonzaga Visits West Virginia Tuesday For Third Meeting
SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University and West Virginia University will meet for the third time since 2012 Tuesday when the Bulldogs visit the WV Coliseum to face the Mountaineers.
The game will be televised on ESPN2 at 6 p.m. PST and on the IMG Gonzaga Radio Network including flagship station 1510 KGA CBS Sports Radio in Spokane.
The Bulldogs and Mountaineers first met in the 2012 NCAA Tournament Second Round in Pittsburgh, Pa. The Bulldogs prevailed 77-54.
The teams met last season in Spokane at the McCarthey Athletic Center in an Old Spice Classic Opening Game, the Bulldogs winning 80-54.
While Gonzaga has played in the Commonwealth of Virginia, Tuesday will be the Bulldogs’ first trip to the state of West Virginia.
West Virginia may not want to see Gonzaga’s Gerard Coleman walk into WV Coliseum Tuesday. The junior transfer from Providence College had perhaps his best game as a Friar against the Mountaineers. He scored a career-high 30 points on a 9-for-15 night from the field and a 12-for-16 effort from the line in an 87-84 overtime setback at home Feb. 5, 2012. He played all 45 minutes.
