McCarthey Athletic Center To Host 100th Men's Game Thursday

     SPOKANE, Wash. - Thursday will be a monumental night as Gonzaga's men's basketball team will play its 100th game in the McCarthey Athletic Center when Oral Roberts University comes to town for a 6 p.m. contest.

     The first game in the McCarthey Athletic Center tipped off Nov. 19, 2004, when the Bulldogs defeated Portland State University 98-80. The Zags bring a lofty 92-7 record in the McCarthey Athletic Center into Thursday's contest.

     Gonzaga won its first 38 games in the McCarthey Athletic Center and had a 50-game home winning streak after winning its final 12 games next door in the Martin Centre. The 50-game streak ended Feb. 12, 2007, when Santa Clara University posted an 84-73 verdict, the only time the Bulldogs have suffered a double-digit defeat among their seven losses in the McCarthey Athletic Center.

     Other teams to down the Bulldogs at home have been Washington State University (51-47, Dec. 5, 2007), Portland State (77-70, Dec. 23, 2008), Wake Forest University (77-75, Dec. 5, 2009), San Diego State University (79-76, Nov. 16, 2010), Saint Mary's College (73-71, Jan. 27, 2011) and Michigan State University (74-67, Dec. 10, 2011).

     Gonzaga and Oral Roberts University will be meeting for the first time on the hardwood Thursday.
