Bulldogs Post Three Victories

Silver Lake, Wash. - The Gonzaga University men's rowing team garnered three first place finishes Friday during a regatta with Orange Coast College, UC San Diego and Washington State University at Silver Lake, Wash. In the first race of the morning, the Zags earned its first victory of the day in a varsity eight race. The Bulldogs completed the race with a mark of 5:58.43, bettering the time of UC San Diego by just over two seconds. UC San Diego completed the course with a mark of 6:00.36. The Bulldog's junior varsity eight boat placed second in the second race of the morning. The Zags were the only junior varsity eight in the race against the varsity eight teams of Orange Coast and Washington State. OCC won the race with a mark of 6:16.27, just edging out Gonzaga who finished in 6:16.87. The Cougars placed third with a time of 6:33.61. In the novice eight "A" race, Orange Coast easily won the race with a mark of 6:01.44, with Gonzaga finishing second with a time of 6:26.80. WSU placed third with a time of 6:37.41. Gonzaga earned its second victory of the day with a win in the junior varsity eight race. The Zags easily defeated WSU with times of 6:35.05 and 6:55.28, respectively. In the final race of the day, Gonzaga earned its second varsity eight win of the day. Gonzaga finished the race in a time of 5:59.55, while Orange Coast completed with a mark of 6:14.12. In other racing action, Orange Coast College was victorious over Washington State in a novice eight race and UC San Diego's varisty eight team defeated the Cougars in a varsity eight race.
