Bulldogs Place Third at Opening Day Regatta

SEATTLE, Wash. - The Gonzaga University men's rowing team placed third in the Erickson Cascade Cup at Opening Day Regatta hosted by the University of Washington on Saturday in Seattle, Wash. The Bulldogs, racing against strong competition from Washington and Oregon State University, finished third in a time of 6:19.06. UW's Novice 8+ earned the Cascade Cup victory, narrowly defeating the Husky Junior Varsity 8+, with a time of 6:01.75. The Husky Junior Varsity 8+ came across the finish line two-seconds later at 6:03.80. Oregon State earned fourth place with a time of 6:30.27. The Bulldogs now wait to hear if they will be invited to the IRA National Championships held in early June in Camden, N.J. Bids to the IRA's are extended near the last week in May.
