VANCOUVER, Wash. - The Gonzaga University men's rowing team garnered four first place finishes Saturday during the Daffodil Cup hosted by the University of Puget Sound. The Bulldogs won the varsity eight, second varsity eight, novice eight and novice four.

In the varsity eight race, Gonzaga took the title finishing in a time of 6:17.80. Washington State University placed second nearly 28 seconds after GU in a time of 6:43. 70.

The Bulldogs second varsity eight boat won in a time of 7:12.1. Washington State, the only other boat in the varsity eight race, finished in a time of 8:01.70.

In the novice eight race, the Zags earned the victory in a time of 7:31.00. The Cougars again placed second to Gonzaga, finishing 11 seconds after the Bulldogs.

In its final win of the day, the Bulldogs finished the novice four race in a time of 7:59.40.

Gonzaga took second in its final two races of the day. The Bulldogs varsity four team placed second behind Puget Sound. UPS took the race in a time of 7:08.30, while the Zags came in at 7:14.00. Then Washington State was victorious in the second varsity four, defeating second place Gonzaga by 6.9 seconds.

Gonzaga will be back in action next Saturday when it participates in the NCRC Regatta at Vancouver Lake in Vancouver, Wash.
