GU won five out of the seven races on the day, including a two-seat victory in the varsity 8+ race. The Bulldog varsity 8+ defeated the Cougars in a time of 6:31.94; their fastest finish in school history.

The varsity 8+ victory over Washington State gained the Bulldogs some national recognition. Gonzaga received votes for the USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association NCAA Division I Varsity Eight Coaches Top-20 Poll.
