GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- The Gonzaga men's golf team set a new program record 54-hole total of 836 (-28), finishing in a tie for fourth at the Loyola Intercollegiate. The Zags' David Ganz tied for 10th at 11-under on the Palms Course at Palm Valley Golf Club. His 205 total broke the GU 54-hole record.

The Bulldogs' previous 54-hole record was 845 at the 2004 Boise State Bronco Classic. College of Charleston took the Loyola Intercollegiate team title at 48-under (816). SIU Edwardsville (-35) and Hartford (-33) were second and third.

"The team fought hard today," GU Head Coach Robert Gray said. "We didn’t post a great round, but we did post a decent one. We dropped a couple of spots but we’ll take a fourth place finish out of 19 teams along with 18, 36 and 54 hole school records to start the season."

Ganz had his second career top-10 finish, both this season, with his 11-under (205) finish. Sean Walsh and Brandon Crick both had the previous program record over 54 holes at 207. Walsh had his 207 total at the 2014 Wyoming Cowboy Classic, while Crick totaled 207 at the 2007 Angel Park Shootout.

Ganz finished the Loyola Intercollegiate with a 67 (-5) Monday. It matched the third-lowest round in program history. He opened the event with a 67 Sunday, and has now carded a 67 four times in his career. The senior played bogey-free golf Monday, with three birdies, 14 pars and an eagle. He led the 107-golfer field at 12-under (4.00) on the course's Par-5 holes.

"David played an excellent, bogey-free round today to move into the top 10," Gray said. "Our other counting scores were around par and his round was huge for the team. That’s what this team has been becoming, a teammate stepping it up to help the team when others aren’t at the top of their game. I couldn’t be prouder of how they played down here."

Tyler Munetake placed 14th at nine-under (207). He carded a 71 (-1) in the final round, making 11 pars and four birdies. He finished the tournament with a 3.80 average (-6) on the course's Par-4 holes.

Nick Nolan also closed the event with a 71 (-1). He tied for 34th at three-under (213). After matching the lowest round in program history in the second round with a 65, Matthew Ruel was one-over (73) Monday. He finished in a tie for 50th at even-par (216). Chris Mogg tied for 89th with a 226 (+10) total. He was five-over (77) in the third and final round.

Ambrose Abbracciamento of Hartford took medalist honors at 17-under (199). He edged out College of Charleston's Logan Sowell (-16) and Tyler Lewis (-16) of Eastern Michigan by a stroke.

Gonzaga hosts the Bandon Dunes Championship in Bandon, Ore., March 11-13. The ninth annual event at the Bandon Dunes Resort will be played on the Pacific Dunes Course this year. Live scoring will be available on
