"The wind came up today and the course played really tough, as can be seen by the scores from the field," GU Head Coach Robert Gray said. "Tyler put together our best individual score for the day and the week with his best collegiate finish.

"For the team, we didn't end up in the final position we had been expecting but the guys fought hard on another tough course. Our first round made a big difference for the week, while the last two rounds weren't too far off from a lot of the top-5 finishers. We just never really seemed to get our games together compared to our last event."

BYU edged out fellow West Coast Conference member, San Francisco, by two strokes for the team title. The Cougars were 13-over (865) in the tournament.

Peter Kuest of BYU remained the leader and took medalist honors at three-under (210). He was two-over (73) in the final round. San Francisco's Henry Chung was second at even-par (213).

"We have over two weeks to get ready for our next event and we'll be working hard to sharpen things up," Gray said.

The Bulldogs travel to Kennesaw, Ga., for the Pinetree Intercollegiate on Oct. 23-24. Live scoring will be available on
