Mogg and Ganz Finish in Top Ten

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Gonzaga men's golfers Chris Mogg and David Ganz began their summer breaks with solid showings at their respective amateur tournaments. Mogg carded a final round of 66 (-5) to tie for sixth at the Bellevue City Amateur. His final round 66 was the lowest total in the field in the final round. Brian Mogg took medalist honors at the event at the Bellevue Golf Course in Bellevue, Wash. At the Royal Oaks Invitational in Vancouver, Wash., Ganz tied for ninth at the three day, 54-hole individual stroke tournament that features many of the top amateur golfers from around the Northwest. Ganz, an upcoming senior, opened the tournament with a 70 (-2). His first round featured an eagle, three birdies and 12 pars. He followed up that total with rounds of 72 (E) and 77 (+5). Ganz, a Portland, Ore. native, finished three-over (219). Ben DuBois was two strokes behind at five-over (221), in a tie for 19th. He had rounds of 76 (+4) and 73 (+1) over the first two days, before climbing the leaderboard with an even-par (72) in the final round. He made four birdies and 10 pars on the final day at the Royal Oaks Country Club.
