CRESWELL, Ore. - Gonzaga University senior Jimmy Hayes of Redmond, Wash., fired a final-round 75 Sunday to finish tied for 18th in the Oregon Men's Stroke Play Championship.

Hayes, who was tied for 31st heading into the final round after posting a pair of 78's, finished at 231 over the 7,073-yard par 71 Emerald Valley Golf Club layout.

Mitchell Gillis, a senior at Oregon State University from Williams Lake, British Columbia, captured his second major title in Oregon this season.

Tied going into the final round with 16-year-old Isaiah Telles of Tualatin, Ore., Gillis had momentum in his favor having shot the low round of his division on Saturday. With Telles struggling to a 5-over par 76, Gillis found his competition coming from Erik Hill of Grants Pass, Ore., who took the lead at the turn with a 2-under par 33. Hill, however came back to the pack with a 2-over 39 on his back nine, while Gillis won the title with three birdies on three of his last five holes.

Gillis had captured the Oregon Amateur earlier this year.
