LAYTON, Utah - Brandon Crick shot a 143 and Trevor Loe stood at 145 Monday to pace Gonzaga University's men's golf team after 36 holes of the Purple and Red Invitational hosted by Weber State University.

Crick was 17th after rounds of 73-70 and Loe was tied for 22nd after shooting 70-75 over the 7,147-yard, par 72 Valley View Golf Club. Maki Kobayashi of Hartford University is the first-day leader at 138 after rounds of 66-72. He leads Dustin Pimm of the University of Utah and Taylor Hobin of the University of San Francisco who shot 139.

The Bulldogs were 10th in the team chase entering Tuesday's final 18 holes, the Bulldogs 591 leaving them one shot behind Northern Colorado University for ninth, while West Coast Conference foe USF held the team lead at 571, good for a 3-stroke lead over Hartford.
