Gonzaga in Georgia for the Pinetree Intercollegiate

The Zags are competing in the two-day, 36-hole event for the first time. The tournament will be played on the Par-72, Pinetree Country Club, which plays 7,108 yards.
This year's field includes 11 teams; Gonzaga, Kennesaw State, Belmont, Florida Gulf Coast, Jacksonville State, Mercer, Nicholls State, Northern Illinois, Southern Illinois, Western Kentucky, and Wisconsin.
The hosts, Kennesaw State has won four of the five tournaments all-time, including last season's event. The Owls captured the 2016 crown at two-under par (862). Iowa State was second at 11-over (875), behind medalist honors from Denzel Ieremia. He was seven-under (209), which tied the third-lowest total in tournament history.
Kennesaw State's Fredrik Nilehn set the tournament-low record in 2014 at 14-under (202). His first round 64 (-8) in 2014 is still the record for lowest round score. The Owls' 2014 and 2015 teams own the team record-low total rounds of 276 (-12). Kennesaw State set the team tournament record total of 845 (-19) in 2014.
Gonzaga is coming off of a 13th place finish at the Nick Watney Invitational in Fresno, Calif. GU was 53-over (905) in the tournament, totaling a 305 (+21) in the third round on Oct. 3. Tyler Munetake tied for 14th. He was six-over (219) in the tournament, after carding a 74 (+3) in the final round. He made 35 pars in the event and went two-over (4.06) on the course's Par-4 holes.
