LIHUE, Kaua'i - Gonzaga University's men's golf team found the going a little tougher Tuesday during the middle round of the 54-hole Kaua'i Collegiate Invitational.

Gonzaga fell from third into a tie for eighth with fellow West Coast Conference member Loyola Marymount University, while another WCC foe moved to the top of the leader board in the University of San Diego. The Toreros are at 553 while the Bulldogs are at 575. Gonzaga and LMU trail yet another WCC competitor, the University of San Francisco, holding seventh at 573 with Drake University sixth at 572.

Bowdy Ehler followed his opening-round 69 with a 2-under par 70 Tuesday to give him a 36-hole total of 139 over the 6,954-yard, par 72 Puakea Golf Course layout. Francis Santiago is at 143 after a 1-under 71 to remain tied for 21st. Kyle Huus, who shot 71 Monday, shot a 76 and is tied for 43rd with teammate Jason Azzarito at 147.

Jay Myers is the leader at 134 after rounds of 70-64, but Jake Yount of USD is only one stroke off the pace after a 63 Tuesday to go with his opening-round 72.

The 54-hole tournament consists of three 18-hole rounds with the final round Wednesday beginning at 9:30 a.m. PST.
