Nov. 5, 2017
SEATTLE – The Gonzaga men’s rowing team completed their fall season on Sunday at the Head of the Lake on Lake Union in Seattle.
The weather made for a difficult conditions on the lake and the Montlake Cut. The varsity eight started the day, coming in at 16:46.183 in fourth place, ahead of boats from Washington State, Western Washington, and Oregon. The second varsity eight came home at 17:32.617, also in fourth place, beating the boat from Oregon.
The Zags entered two boats in the third varsity eight race. The GU boats came in fifth and sixth, with times of 18:08.673 and 18:48.014, respectively.
“It was a tough day to race with the bad weather and time delay,” Gonzaga head coach Dan Gehn said. “I thought they handled it well.”
The Zags will now enter their winter training. Their spring schedule will be posted in the coming months on GoZags.com.
