Brad Bachmeier joined Gonzaga University's Sports Medicine staff in the summer of 1999, coming to the Bulldogs from nearby Eastern Washington University. Bachmeier received his B.S. in Athletic Training from North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND, in 1997, then joined the EWU staff as a graduate assistant athletic trainer from 1997 until joining the Bulldogs. He received his master's degree in physical education with an emphasis in Administration management and pedagogy. While on the EWU staff, Bachmeier was directly responsible for the men's basketball and women's soccer teams, and also assisted with football, women's basketball, volleyball, tennis, track and field, golf and cross country. He was also co-director of the EWU Sports Medicine Camp in 1998. In the classroom he assisted with teaching an orthopedic rehabilitation class. At NDSU he served as a student athletic trainer while pursuing his undergraduate studies. He was the head student trainer for men's basketball, and women's track and field. He also assisted with women's basketball, baseball, softball, women's soccer, wrestling, and track and field. Bachmeier is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, the Washington State Athletic Trainers Association, the Northwest Athletic Trainers Association and the Inland Empire Athletic Trainers Association. He is also certified by the American Red Cross as an Emergency Response First Aid and CPR Instructor, and is certified in CPT by the American Heart Association. Bachmeier and his wife Marcey have one son, Blake (2/4/99), and a daughter, Carley (1/18/02). |
