Oct. 27, 2017
SPOKANE, Wash. - The Gonzaga Bulldogs fell to San Francisco 3-1 on a chilly and clear night on Friday at Luger Field.
The game went tied into the 71st minute with neither team allowing a great opportunity for the other. USF jumped ahead in the 71st minute, but Gonzaga came back to tie four minutes later when Nick Ulowetz stole the ball and dropped it off to Sam Olson who launched it from just outside the box into the top right shelf to tie the match.
USF scored the final two goals though, in the 82nd and 89th minutes, the second one with the Zags fully pushed forward in an attempt to tie.
USF led in shots 10-8 but in shots on goal only 5-4. Olson scored his third goal of the year and Ben Willis made two saves for GU.
The Zags (6-7-1, 0-4 WCC) will celebrate their seven seniors on Sunday at 1 pm against Santa Clara at Luger Field.
