2014-15: Singles: went 17-16 overall and 9-12 in dual play…helped Zags clinch first ever WCC Championship Opening Round win with 6-0, 6-1 victory over Max Heerinckx April 22…picked up two-set victory over #50 Pepperdine’s Lautaro Pane March 20…won four straight dual matches from February 7 to March 1…won first match of the year, a two-setter versus Jaime Marajas Jan. 17…won blue flight of GU Fall Tournament October 24-26…reached B flight semifinals at EWU Fall Classic Sept. 26-28. Doubles: posted 12-19 record overall, including 7-12 in dual play…with Joey Brandt, beat Santa Clara’s Heerinckx/Standifer 8-4 to help Zags win doubles point and opening round matchup at WCC Championships…with Brandt, beat BYU’s Carrazedo/Ball April 10 to help get first win over BYU…went 4-4 at No. 2 singles in eight matches with Nick Kamisar…reached second doubles flight final at GU Fall Tournament with Vicente Varas Nov. 7-9.
2013-14: Transferred to Gonzaga...did not compete for the Bulldogs due to NCAA restrictions.
College of the Desert: Started collegiate career at College of the Desert in Palm Desert, Calif....three-time All-American, earning All-American Doubles in both 2011 and 2012 and All-American Singles in 2011 as well...led the Roadrunners to two team championships at the Ojai Tennis Tournament and a state title in 2011...won the state doubles title and was a finalist in the National Open Hard Court Championship in 2012...kept a 3.6 GPA, making the Dean's List and graduating with an associate of arts in business administration.
Vincent Memorial Catholic High School: Played tennis for four years at Vincent Memorial Catholic HS in Calexico, Calif....played at No. 1 singles for the Scots, going undefeated in the Imperial Valley League for three seasons...won three league individual titles and also was named MVP from 2007 to 2009...nationally ranked in Mexico's junior open division (#9).
Personal: Parents are Leticia and Sergio...has one sibling named Valeria...business administration major, focusing in finance and economics...wants to work in a field that does not feel like a job...chose Gonzaga because of the great academic reputation, because the men's tennis team and staff made it feel like home, and because he can help make a difference in the program...once gave tennis lessons to Bill Gates.
