Dojcak Earns Singles Victory In Loss

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Roman Dojcak recorded a singles win for the second time in as many days as the Gonzaga University men's tennis team fell to the University of San Francisco 6-1 Sunday in San Francisco. With the loss, Gonzaga falls to 1-6 overall, including posting a 0-4 record in West Coast Conference play. The Dons improve to 4-1 overall with the victory. Dojcak earned the lone Bulldog point of the afternoon, defeating Rainer Nachbaurer in the No. 3 position (6-4, 6-3). Playing the No. 1 singles, Bryce Cooper fell to Matt Barry (6-4, 6-4), while Brett Womack fell at No. 2 to Thong Tu (6-0, 6-0). Cooper Fratt fell to Asaf Cohen in three sets (6-1, 3-6, 6-0) in the No. 4 position. Marco Antonio Pineda and Zach Radetzky rounding out singles play, falling at the No. 5 and 6 positions, respectively. In doubles play, the Zag duo of Cooper and Dojcak earned a win at the No. 3 spot, defeating Mitch Del Rosario 8-5. At the No. 1 doubles spot, Pineda and Womack fell to Einar Hart and Nachbauer 8-5, while at No. 2 Berry and Greg Hom combined to down Radetzky and Logan Napolsky 8-5. The Bulldogs will return to the courts on March 3 when they face Utah State University and Montana State University - Billings in Bozeman, Mont. USF 6, Gonzaga 1
