Men's Tennis Falls at Portland
Feb. 25, 2018
PORTLAND -- The Gonzaga men's tennis team fell in its West Coast Conference opener at the University of Portland, 4-0, on Sunday afternoon.
The Pilots controlled the doubles point and won the first three singles matches on the day on the way to the victory.
GU battled on the No. 1 doubles court as Sam Feit and Ruadhan O'Sullivan were up 5-4 when their match went unfinished due to the Pilots clinching the doubles point. Simon Homedes Dualde tied their doubles match at 5-5 on No. 3, but the UP duo closed it out 7-5.
In singles, Hunter Egger had a lead in his first set, but again UP had the answer with a 7-5 win in that set.
GU will be back on the road for each of its next five matches as part of seven straight on the road. WCC action continues on March 11 at San Diego at Noon. Check GoZags.com for available links to live coverage.
