Lions Drop Zags 5-2

Los Angeles, Calif. - Stefan Feddersen and Conor Feeney each earned singles victories Saturday as the Gonzaga University men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to West Coast Conference foe Loyola Marymount University. The Lions (5-7) earned the early advantage, taking two doubles matches. At No. 1, GU's (5-10) Zack Radetzky and Feddersen fell 8-4 to Jack Twarowski and Sam Tadevosian while Roman Dojcak and Charles Adams dropped a 8-5 decision to Renzo Maggi and Ivan Lopez at No. 2. The Bulldogs took the No. 3 contest as Cooper Fratt and Feeney downed Nick Von Der Ahe and Johan Berhof 8-4. In singles play, Feddersen earned a point for the Bulldogs at No. 1 with a straight-set 6-4, 7-6 victory over Twarowksi. Fenney provided GU with its other point as the freshman came back from an early deficit to defeat Maggi 0-6, 7-6, 6-2 at No. 4. At No. 2, Dojcak dropped a 6-2, 6-2 decision to Lopez while Radetzky fell at No. 3 in three sets, 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 to Tadvosian. Fratt and Adams rounded out singles play, falling in each of their respective matches. Fratt fell to Berhof in three-sets, 6-4, 5-7, 7-5 at No. 5, while Stefan Nikolic downed Adams a t No. 6 6-2, 6-2.
