SPOKANE, Wash - - Senior Bryce Cooper of the Gonzaga University men's tennis team posted a three-set victory Friday to lift the Bulldogs over the University of Idaho 4-3 at the tennis courts on the Gonzaga campus in Spokane, Wash.

With the victory, the Zags improve to 10-12 for the season, while the Vandals drop to a 12-9 overall record.

With the match tied 3-3, Cooper battled Idaho's Stanislav Glukhov to three sets to earn the victory for Gonzaga. Glukhov jumped out to an early lead after winning the first set 6-7, but Cooper fought back to win the next two sets 6-2, 7-5 to gain the victory at the No. 1 position.

Roman Dojcak, Marco Antonio Pineda and Zack Radetzky added to the Bulldogs' point total by winning their respective singles matches. Dojcak earned a victory at the No. 2 spot, downing Idaho's John Heib in straight sets (6-4, 6-4). Pineda improved to 14-8 for the season with a straight-set victory over Daniel Plesha at No. 4 (7-6, 6-1). Playing at No. 6, Radetzky earned a two-set victory over Joel Trudel (7-5, 6-2).

The Vandals earned the doubles point taking victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots. Gonzaga's Radetzky and Womack improved to 14-5 in doubles play with an 8-6 victory over Glukhov and Plesha at the No. 1 spot.

The Bulldogs will return to the courts twice more this weekend. Saturday, the Zags will host Whitworth College at 2 p.m., while Sunday Gonzaga will welcome Lewis-Clark State College to Spokane at 11 a.m. Both matches will be played at the tennis courts just northwest of the Martin Centre on the Bulldogs' campus.
