Kiara Kudron Joins USA All-Star Team Headed To China

SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga redshirt senior Kiara Kudron has been selected to join the NetScouts Basketball USA Women’s All-Star team headed to China to participate in the Four Nations international basketball tournament.
The team, organized and coached by NetScouts Basketball, will play in three cities for a total of nine games against the national teams of China and Lithuania as well as an All-Star team from Canada. The team will play three games in round-robin matches in Weng’an from April 28-30, Tongren from May 2-4 and in Jiahe from May 6-8. The team will depart from LAX on April 24th and return to the United States on May 9th.
The NetScouts Basketball USA All-Stars include: Leslie Lopez-Wood, 5’6, PG, (Loyola Marymount), Simone DeCoud, 5’5, PG (UC-Riverside), Brittany Crain, 5’8, SG (UC-Riverside/Luxembourg), Kari Korver, 5’9, SG (UCLA), Ashley Clark, 5’11, SG (Tulsa/Finland), Nicole Kornet, 6’1, SF (UCLA), Kiara Kudron, 6’2, F (Gonzaga), Alisia Jenkins, 6’1, F (South Florida/Spain), Shereen Sutherland, 6’2, C (Cal-Irvine) and Rachel Mitchell, 6’7, C (Texas A&M/Romania). The team will be coached by Perry Huang, previously with Santa Cruz of the NBA D-League and assisted by Carl Berman of NetScouts Basketball and D’shara Strange of Montana Tech.
In her senior season, Kudron was named to the All-WCC First Team as well as to the WCC All-Tournament team after helping lead Gonzaga to the conference title and an NCAA bid. She averaged 9.9 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.9 assists for the season.
This season alone, the redshirt senior led the Zags in scoring eight times, led in rebounds 19 times, led in assists 11 times, and led in steals six times. She shot 51 percent from the field, third in the conference this season. She finished with 35 career games with eight or more rebounds. She graduated last spring with a degree in physical education, and was a two-time All-Academic selection. Kiara started in 56 of her career 126 games, and was on the court for 97 Gonzaga wins. She became the 17th member of the 600-rebound club finishing with 651, 10th all-time.
