SPOKANE, Wash. -The Gonzaga University's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and Campus Kitchens are partnering to host a food drive at the women's basketball exhibition contest against Warner Pacific University, Friday, Nov. 6. The contest against Warner Pacific starts at 6 p.m.

Donations will directly benefit local community members in need. Fans are encouraged to bring Thanksgiving-themed food items, as the donations will be used to prepare Thanksgiving meals for several families in the local area. Campus Kitchens is committed to empowering student leaders and combating hunger across America. The non-profit organization has delivered more than 32,000 meals since 2005.

Individuals who donate food items will be entered in a raffle to win GU memorabilia including autographed basketballs, a jersey, and ticket packages.

SAAC is comprised of representatives from each Gonzaga athletic team whose main purpose is to serve as a student-athlete voice regarding student-athlete welfare within Gonzaga's athletic department, the West Coast Conference, and the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

Contact Louise Torgerson, Life Skills Coordinator, at torgerson@athletics.gonzaga.edu or 509-313-4282 with any questions.
