Gonzaga kicks the season off with four-straight home games at the McCarthey Athletic Center. ZAGS BEAT WASHINGTON TO OPEN THE 2007-08 SEASON: It was the perfect beginning to the new season for the Gonzaga University women's basketball team. Facing the University of Washington in Spokane for the first time since the 1997-1998 campaign, the Bulldogs earned their first victory in 18 tries over the Huskies with an impressive 91-72 win Monday, Nov. 12. It was also a phenomenal collegiate debut for redshirt freshman Janelle Bekkering as she posted a career-high 20 points, including 16 in the first half. With the win the Bulldogs improved to 1-0 on the season and are now 6-0 in home openers, while the Huskies dropped to 0-2 overall. SCOUTING THE GRIZZLIES: The University of Montana split its opening two contests of the 2007-08 campaign.
