SPOKANE, Wash. - The Gonzaga University women's rowing program will enter four boats in this Sunday's Pacific-10 Conference Championship set to take place at Lake Natoma in Sacramento, Calif. The Zags will enter boats in the Varsity 8+, Second Varsity 8+, Novice 8+ and Varsity 4+ races. The Zag Novice 8+ won the Pac-10 Championship for the second-straight year a season ago, while the Varsity 4+ placed second.

The Bulldog Varsity 8+ is seeded eighth in the 11 team field and is in the same heat as the University of California (#1) University of Southern California (#4), Oregon State University (#5) and Western Washington (#9). The top three boats from the heat advance to the Pac-10 Grand Final while the final two boats move on to compete in the Petite Final. Gonzaga finished eight at last year's Pac-10 Championships and 10th the season before.

Gonzaga's Second Varsity 8+ is also seeded eighth in its 11 team field. The Zags will race in the same heat with the University of Washington (#1), USC (#4), Washington State University (#5) and UC Davis (#9). Again, the top three boats advance to the Grand Final while the remaining two boats will race in the Petite Final. Last season, which was the first year Gonzaga entered a Second Varsity 8+ boat, it placed ninth.

The Zag Novice 8+ is seeded fifth in their 10 team field. GU will race in the same heat as California (#1), Oregon State (#4), Sacramento State University (#8) and USC (#9). Again, the top three boats advance to the Grand Final, while the remaining boats will race in the Petite Final.

The Gonzaga Varsity 4+ is seeded sixth in the nine team field. The Bulldogs will race California (#2), Oregon State (#3) and Stanford University (#7). The top two boats from each heat will advance to the Grand Final, while the remaining squads will race in the Petite Final.
