Winters Invited To National Team Freshman Camp

SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University freshman women's rower Hannah Winters is one of 24 rowers that have been invited to the 2008 Women's National Team Freshman Camp to be held June 16-21 at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. The team will be coached by Cornell Varsity head coach Hilary Gehman. Winters, who rowed with the Novice 8+ all season, was a member of the Novice 8+ that placed fifth at the Pacific-10 Championships this season. She also rowed on the Novice 8+ that earned a silver medal at the WIRA Championships and was a member of the Novice 8+ boat that placed second at the Oregon State Dual. "This camp is a great opportunity for Hannah," stated novice coach Courtney Haase. "She will get a better idea of the level of competition that exists in college rowing and will be able to use that to focus her and her teammate's goals and expectations in the upcoming season."
