SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University women's rower Kelly Steinhaus has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team as selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Steinhaus earned first-team honors in District 8 which includes student-athletes from NCAA Division I Institutions in Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Utah and Washington.

Ten total student-athletes, including Steinhaus, were selected to the District 8 first-team and will now be placed on the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration. Also joining Steinhaus on the first-team were Ana Agy (Arizona), Kristina Baskett (Utah), Stephanie Bengson (Long Beach State), Kim Booney (UNLV), Margaret Doolittle (Nevada), Yuki Lamb (Oregon State), Jen May (Oregon), Azahara Munoz (Arizona State) and Riza Zalameda (UCLA).

Steinhaus currently holds a 3.87 GPA as a graduate student in leadership and administration. The Flagstaff, Ariz., native was a member of the Varsity 8+ boat that placed eighth at the Pacific 10 Championships earlier this month and also rowed in the Varsity 8+ that took first in both the WIRA Championships and the WCC Championships. The senior earned first-team All-WIRA accolades and was named to the WCC All-Conference squad this season.
