Zags Finish Final Round At Tacoma Country And Golf Club
Oct. 17, 2017
LAKEWOOD, Wash. – The Gonzaga Bulldogs completed the final round of the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational on Tuesday morning at the Tacoma Country and Golf Club.
Diana Araneta led the Zags finishing in 49th at +25 after a final round 79. She rolled home birdies on the par-four 14th and par-five 16th. Jessica Mangrobang was one shot back at +26 in 53rd. She finished the event as one of only four players in the field to make an eagle. Due to injuries, the Zags had three players complete all three rounds and were playing as individuals.
“This has been a challenging week for us,” Gonzaga head coach Brad Rickel said. “Two of our players being injured meant we cannot compete as a team. The golf course played very hard, with all teams shooting well over par. We were no exception as we struggled a bit with the speed of the greens and didn’t hole enough putts. We look forward to teeing it up in again in Las Vegas in a few days.”
Natalie Roth of North Dakota State was the only player under par at three-under and her Bison won by 12 strokes over UC Irvine.
GU heads to Las Vegas to compete in the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown on Sunday, October 22 at the Boulder Creek Golf Club.
