ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. - High winds and low temperatures made life less-than-desirable during Tuesday's final 18 holes of the Lamkin Grip Cal Poly Invitational women's golf tournament Cypress Ridge Golf Course.

Gonzaga University shot a final-round 318 Tuesday, just one stroke higher than Monday's wet and windy opening round. That left the Bulldogs in 12th place with a 635, six stroke behind West Coast Conference foe University of Portland. San Jose State University maintained its first-round lead, finishing at 598 for a 12-stroke victory over Sacramento State University.

Only Boise State University bettered its opening-round total, the Broncos seven strokes better than their 322 on Monday. Cal State Northridge matched its first-round score of 311.

Stephanie Corey, one of three Bulldogs to shoot an opening-round 79, was the only Bulldog under 80 Tuesday as she came in with a 75 over the 5,969-yard, par 72 layout for a 36-hole total of 154 and a tie for 19th. Jessica Howe shot 80 Tuesday to finish at 159 and a tie for 42nd.

Mary Beth McKenna of Xavier University captured medalist honors at 143 after rounds of 69-73 for a 3-stroke victory over JenniferBermingham of UC Riverside and Cristina Corpus of SJSU.

While five players finished under par in Monday's round, the best score Tuesday was a 73 by Katrin Delen Briones of San Jose State.

The tournament ended the fall season for the Bulldogs.
