CHANDLER, AZ - Sage Suffecool and Sarah Sheffield were the lone bright spots Monday for Gonzaga University's women's golf team after 36 holes of the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic hosted by the University of Wyoming.

Suffecool is tied for 15th at 155 after rounds of 77-78, while Sheffield is tied for 20th with a 157 after shooting 79-78 over the 6,108-yard, par-72 Ocotillo Golf Resort layout. Those were the only sub-80 rounds of the day for the Bulldogs.

Gonzaga is in 14th place at 656 after struggling with rounds of 323-333. The Bulldogs trail Montana State University by one stroke. Eastern Washington University and the University of Nevada are tied for the team lead at 611 for a 2-stroke advantage over the host Cowgirls heading into Tuesday's final 18 holes. Nevada set a tournament record with a 297 in the Monday's second round.

Hillary Gerster of South Dakota State University is the individual leader with a 144 after two rounds of 72 each for a 4-stroke lead over Lauren Mengelkamp of host Wyoming.
