WGCA All-American Scholars

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars were announced today with a total of 952 women’s collegiate golfers recognized with this prestigious honor.

Gonzaga’s graduating senior Ciera Min was selected from the Bulldogs with a cumulative 3.56 GPA, after graduating in psychology this past May.

She is the first Zag to win the award since Alice Kim was honored in 2015, the third time she was selected.

“I came into college as a student-athlete with about three concrete long-term goals, one of them being to graduate as an academic all-american,” Min said. “Going into my final semester, I had known that my GPA would be near the line of selection so I constantly kept that goal in mind throughout the spring semester and worked as hard as I could academically. With that being said, this selection means the world to me and holds a very special place in my heart. I would personally consider it to be one of my greatest and most proud accomplishments here at Gonzaga.”

Min put together an outstanding senior season, and was selected to the WCC All-Academic Team for the third-straight year. She was also selected Preseason All-WCC, the Gonzaga Female Senior Athlete of the Year, and the first in program history to be selected All-WCC all four seasons.

She shot nine rounds at or below par and recorded a 73.61 stroke average, second on the team and third-best in school history this season. Min shot a career-low 73-70-68=211 (-5) at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic, taking second and finished below par in three tournaments overall. She had three top-five finishes and ended her career with a 74.21 stroke average, second-best in program history.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.
