ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. - Gonzaga University's women's golf team was in 12th place after Monday's opening round of the Lamkin Grip Cal Poly Invitational at Cypress Ridge Golf Course.

Scores were high for the most part as only two schools broke 300. San Jose University sits atop the leader board at 295 with host Cal Poly second at 299. UC Riverside was at 300.Gonzaga is at 317, six shots out of 10th.

Three Bulldogs shot 79 - Stephanie Corey, Jessica Howe and Anna Friedhoff - to tie for 44th heading into Tuesday's final round.

Individual co-leaders after 18 holes are Mary Beth McKenna of Xavier University and Bari Erais of Bradley University, each with 3-under-par 69's Monday. Both McKenna and Erais notched five birdies and a pair of bogeys.

Three golfers share third place as Jennifer Bermingham of UC Riverside and SJSU teammates Christina Corpus and Erica Moston carded 71's. Bermingham has won the last two Lamkin Grip Invitational titles.
