Maggie Conners' first collegiate goal was the gamewinner in the 77th minute. The freshman beat a defender and then curled a shot around the Pioneers' keeper.

The Bulldogs managed just two shots in the first half, but finished with a 10-9 advantage over DU (3-3-1). Gonzaga placed five shots on frame, while Denver had four. Isabel Jones made three saves for the Zags.

The Zags return to Spokane and host Fairleigh Dickinson Friday at 7 p.m., before welcoming Memphis to Luger Field Sunday.
