OREM, Utah - Sophomore defender Brittney Fracolli's laser strike from 30 yards out lifted the Gonzaga University women's soccer team to a 3-2 come from behind victory over Utah Valley State University today at the Wolverine Stadium.

The Wolverines opened the scoring in the 16th minute, as freshman forward Roybn Rasmussen claimed her first goal of the year. Rasmussen slipped past Gonzaga's defense and was able to score on a breakaway as she took a lead pass from senior midfielder Carolyn Theurer and slipped the ball past Bulldogs goalkeeper Ashley Haugen.

UVSU increase their lead shortly into the second period as freshman defender Alyssa Wagar, also scoring her first goal of the season, took a cross from senior midfielder Nicole Averett and beat Haugen to give the Wolverines a two goal cushion at the 51:47 mark.

The Bulldogs then launched a furious offensive attack as senior forward Annie Hawkins corralled a pass from freshman midfielder Heather Horn, and was able to put Gonzaga on the boards as she got the ball past UVSU freshman goalkeeper Natasha Bell cutting GU's deficit in half.

Barley 44 seconds later Gonzaga was back on level terms with the Wolverines through a determined effort from senior forward Walker Loseno as she recorded her second goal of the season. Loseno controlled a cross from Hawkins and put the ball out of the reach of Bell.

Knotted at two-all, the Bulldogs were not content to play for the tie. Four minutes later Fracolli found herself about 30 yards out with a good look at the net and she did not hesitate, rocketing a right-footed shot into the bottom right of the net for the game-winner. It was Fracolli's first goal of the year.

Haugen recorded seven saves in recording her fourth win of the season. Her counterpart Bell recorded five saves on the day.

The Bulldogs are off to their best start in program history and are looking to remain undefeated on their home pitch as they host nearby rival Eastern Washington University Friday in a 3 p.m. non-conference match at Martin Field.
