MOSCOW, Idaho - Lacey Castleberry, Jessie Sorenson and Christine Soma all posted goals for the Gonzaga University women's soccer team as the Bulldogs shutout the University of Idaho 3-0 Friday afternoon in Moscow, Idaho.

With the win, Gonzaga improves to 5-3-1 for the season, while Idaho slips to 0-10-0 overall.

The Zags first got on the board at the 23:32 mark when Sorenson scored the first goal of her college career on a breakaway.

It didn't take long into the second half for the Zags to jump out to a 2-0 lead. Thirty-one seconds after the kick off of the second half, Taylor Hall took a free kick that fell behind the Vandal's goalkeeper, Caylee Ketchum. Castleberry then tapped the ball into the net for her team-leading third goal of the season.

Less than five minutes after the second goal, Soma took on Ketchum in a one-on-one situation at 50:13. Soma's first shot was saved by Ketchum but the junior was able to tap in her second goal of the season off of the rebound.

Gonzaga had a chance to add another goal at the 80:00 mark with a Traci Dallas penalty shot but Idaho goalkeeper Anna Sandman was able to secure the save.

The Zags posted a season-high 25 shots, while holding the Vandals to only four shots. The Bulldogs also held a demanding 8-0 corner kick advantage, including six in the second half.

Goalkeepers Jessie Thalman and Laura Higby combined for GU's fourth shutout of the season. Thalman earned the win while posting three saves.

The Bulldogs return to the pitch Sunday when they return home to face No. 21 Long Beach State. The match marks the first time this season Gonzaga has faced a nationally-ranked foe. The match is slated for 1 p.m. at Martin Field.
