Maas Joins Gonzaga WSOC

Maas will be a freshman at Gonzaga in 2018-19. She was a four-year letterwinner at Rancho Bernardo High School for head coach Mark Sidebottom. She was key to the team’s defensive success and received the Scholar-Athlete Award for achieving a 3.5 or better. Maas was selected to the San Diego Union Tribune All-Academic Team.
Maas excels in the classroom. She boasts a 4.22 GPA. She received the Silver Star Award four times for achieving a 4.0 or above each school year. She is a member of the Fraternity of Academic and Civic Excellence, and accepted the AP Scholar Award.
Maas has been the captain of the Del Mar Carmel Valley Sharks club team for six years. They won the Cal South National Cup, So Cal Developmental Soccer League twice, and the California Regional League, while she was a member of the team.
“The main reason why I chose Gonzaga was because of the sense of community that I felt when I visited,” Maas said. “From what I observed, people at Gonzaga are genuinely committed to making the world a better place and to guaranteeing that each student has a personalized and enriching experience. Additionally, the accounting program is one of the best in the country and I have always planned on pursuing accounting in my future.”
“Gabby is a lock down defender, who is clever with the ball as she transitions to the attack,” Watkins said.
