Sarah Hawkins Named To Soccer America Team
Oct. 30, 2003 SPOKANE, Wash. - The honors continue to roll in for Gonzaga University's women's soccer team following last weekend's road sweep of Loyola Marymount University and 11th-ranked PEpperdine University. Midfielder Sarah Hawkins, already named to the Soccer Buzz Team of the Week along with teammate and Bulldog keeper Ashley Haugen, has been named to the Soccer America Team of the Week. Hawkins had a pair of goals in Gonzaga's 4-0 win over LMU, and assisted on the game winner in the 1-0 win at Pepperdine.

Jessica Poole (St. Mary's), Sr. (1) Gaels' defensive anchor heads home first goal in 2-1 triumph over San Diego, comes up big in the back in 0-0 tie with No. 8 Santa Clara. Kelly Rowland (Florida State), Fr. (2) Long throw-in produces only goal in 1-0 victory over North Carolina State as Seminoles post fifth successive shutout, fourth in a row in ACC. Jen Zieky (Connecticut), Sr. (1) Texas transfer scores twice in 6-0 rout of Syracuse, part of defensive effort that holds St. John's and SU to less than 10 shots in Husky wins. Midfielders Lori Chalupny (North Carolina), Soph. (3) National-teamer scores one goal, assists another as No. 1 Tar Heels win ACC showdown with No. 6 Virginia to improve to 17-0-0; also sees action in Americans' tie with Italy in K.C.
