SPOKANE, Wash. - Aglaya Kokurina and Sydney Lederhouse both posted singles wins Friday night but it wasn't enough as the Gonzaga Unviersity women's tennis team fell to Montana State University 4-2 at the Spokane Racquet Club. The two schools did not play doubles matches because of the winner of match was already decided and due to the time of night.

With the loss, Gonzaga slips to 2-6 overall, while Montana State improves to 2-10.

Kokurina earned a victory at the No. 2 position, defeating MSU's Katy Proietti in three closely contested sets (6-7 (6), 7-6(4), 6-2). Lederhouse earned a straight set victory over Ali Griffin at the No. 3 position (7-6(4), 7-5).

Emily Anderson fell at the No. 1 spot to Nuria Hernandex (6-2, 6-3), while Kendall Bates also suffered a loss at the No. 4 position to Laura Villegas in straight sets (6-4, 6-3). Rounding out play was Carrie Schofield and Courtney Lau. Schofield fell at the No. 5 positions to Remy Clark (6-2, 6-2) and Lau was defeated at No. 6 by McKenzie Hilmer (6-2, 6-3).

The Zags will return to action Saturday morning when they face the University of Montana at the Spokane Racquet Club at 8 a.m.
